Hi, I’m Ren
Lotus plants inspire me to keep growing, reaching, and realigning my perspective so I can become the most radiant version of myself. They begin in the darkest, muddiest waters—much like the challenges we face in life. Yet, with quiet determination, they rise, thrive, and stretch toward the light.
When the blossoms finally break the surface, you’d never guess the murky waters they came from. Instead, the blooms stand tall, pure, and luminous in the sunshine. At their heart, the lotus continues to give—its center ripening into seed pods that release precious round seeds back into the depths, ensuring life and beauty for the next generation.
I’m on a personal journey to live a more radiant life, change my thinking, and expand what I believe is possible. Why? One afternoon in November of 2021, I went through a life-changing experience. I died in my doctor’s office three times—no pulse, blood pressure, or respiration. In the midst of it, my reality cracked, and I was able to see and hear two realities at the same time. After the third time (I can be a lil slow sometimes), I realized I had two choices—die and go or live and stay. I literally said, “I’m going to be like James Bond and die another day.” Which is odd because I’ve never watched that movie. The whole story of that day is amazing, bizarre, miraculous, and funny all at the same time, but that’s for another day.
Once I was well enough, I began studying and learning about the difference between our brains and minds. And yes, we do have more than one. What I’m learning is incredible; it’s shifting my perspective and my reality. I’m changing the negative beliefs that I held for waaay too long, and I’m including more peace, positivity, balance, nature, and wonder in my life. I’d love to have you join me on this walk.
A bit more about me
I love 💚 all things green and growing and spending time in nature. Growing herbs, garden goodies, orchids, and houseplants are among my favorite things to do. Creating is another important part of my life, and I do that in many different ways: making herbal salves and medicines, cooking delicious and nutritious food, sewing, quilting, knitting, drawing, and writing.
My working life has been an eclectic mix of learning and occupations. I’m a psychic reader, coach,
and Usui Reiki master and teacher who combines psychic readings with coaching. I’ve worked as a primary school art teacher, a professional typesetter and graphic designer, a safety engineer and trainer, and a published knitwear designer.
For the past 12 years, I have worked full-time as a certified professional resume writer and career coach, contributing content and resume samples that have been published in two John Wiley & Sons books. I’m also a wife, mum, grandmum, cat mum, and plant mum. Wow, that’s a lot of Mums! It might even be a whole bouquet ☺️

I’ve had a strong interest in the land of Japan and its culture since I was six years old. It was then that I received a beautiful blue floral child’s kimono from a relative living in Tokyo. I loved it so much that even as an adult, I wore it as a duster on holidays and special occasions. Throughout my life and especially when I was younger, people would often comment that I looked Asian, which always made me smile.
Ren Hana: my pseudonym
Ren Hana is the pseudonym I use online. Ren is a Japanese name that refers to the lotus or water lily plants. It’s also the diminutive form of my French middle name, Reneé. Hana is the Japanese word for flower or blossom. Together, they mean Lotus Blossom.
Why Radiant Lotus?

More about the psychic readings I offer
In each reading, I help clients by looking into a situation, problem, or question in several ways to discern what’s happening and to see possibilities. The insights that come through may include additional or deeper information, another perspective, a creative approach, or options they hadn’t considered. Clients are then able to make better decisions and take directed actions to foster growth, ultimately leading to a happier and more fulfilling life. My clients are always encouraged and experience increased confidence and hope through our work together.
What types of readings do clients ask for?
They cover a range of topics, including questions, situations, and challenges related to their life journey, career, business, well-being, spiritual path, finances, relationships (romantic, family, or friendships), personal growth, goal setting, and problem-solving.
Are your readings virtual or in person?
Most consultations are virtual via phone, video, or email. Occasionally, I do in-person readings at local events.
Aren’t readings better when given in person?
The best and most accurate readings require a CONNECTION between the client and me, which can occur when we are on opposite sides of the world or sitting next to each other.
Do you come from a psychic family line? Are you a medium?
Psychic or intuitive abilities were never discussed in my family, nor am I a medium. However, when I look back on my life, I see that I was intuitive (psychic) even when I was young, but I didn’t make that connection until much later. I do believe that everyone has intuitive abilities. Unfortunately, many just don’t recognize or know how to access them. With some guidance from a teacher or mentor, patience, practice, and trust, it’s possible to activate, grow, and use them.
What specific psychic abilities do you have?
If you research “psychic abilities,” you will find there are hundreds of documented different types and likely hundreds more that aren’t. Insight comes to me in many ways, and I’m continuing to tap into new ones all the time. Perhaps you’re familiar with the six abilities known as the Clairs, from the French word for clear. If I have to list a few ways psychic insight comes to me, they would be through claircognizance (clear knowing), clairsentience (clear sensing), clairaudience (clear hearing), and clairvoyance (clear seeing). What are clients saying about the readings they’ve received?
“I cannot thank you enough for your time. I really needed this reading, and it gave me much-needed hope. I just need to start looking out for myself, and I will make that a priority. Thank you for the advice and support, Ren. Warmest wishes.” ♡ ~ Sophia
“Five Stars and Spot on! I’m surprised at how much the reading aligned with what I sensed that I should do. I loved all the extra things you shared with me—very helpful. Your reading was probably the best one I’ve ever had. Very professional and supportive.” ~ Charlee
“Wow! I was nervous about getting a reading because I didn’t want a bunch of fluffy stuff. The reading I received from you was def not fluffy. You were kind but straight to the point, and I really needed to hear your tough but true words. Also needed to be challenged to act and do things differently if I wanted a different result than I keep getting. I really appreciate the info about energies and the suggestions for things I can do to achieve more balance. Thanks, Ren.” ~ Hamish
“Your reading was so spot on, I was amazed that someone who doesn’t even know me could do that. I was really stuck and couldn’t figure out how to change that. You provided suggestions on how to move forward, and you gave me hope, motivating me to get started. Thank you for helping me in the midst of a big career dilemma that lasted way longer than it needed to. You’re awesome!” ~ Mai
